Rules of Play - Creating Tomorrow Lottery

  • The Creating Tomorrow Community Lottery will consist of three 50/50 draws between May 2021 until July 2021.

  • All tickets will only be sold to people who are 18 years of age or older. Tickets may not be purchased in the name of a minor.

  • Tickets are 5 for $10, 15 for $20, or 100 for $50.

  • Tickets will be sold using an electronic raffle system supplied by Canadian Bank Note.

  • Monthly Draw Schedule:
    • Draw #1: Ticket sales from 9:00 a.m. ET on Monday, May 3, 2021 until 12:00 p.m. ET on Monday, May 31, 2021. Draw will take place at 1:00 p.m. ET on Monday, May 31, 2021. The winning prize will be half of the sales for the month of May.
    • Draw #2: Ticket sales from 9:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 until 12:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Draw will take place at 1:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. The winning prize will be half of the sales for the month of June.
    • Draw #3: Ticket sales from 9:00 a.m. ET on Friday, July 2, 2021 until 12:00 p.m. ET on Friday, July 30, 2021. Draw will take place at 1:00 p.m. ET on Friday July 30, 2021. The winning prize will be half of the sales for the month of July.
  • After buying, patrons will be given by the sellers a receipt with their 50/50 registered numbers from a Random Selection System. No specific numbers can be given as numbers are generated randomly.

  • The winning ticket number will be selected by a Random Number Generation (RNG) system from all raffle numbers sold for the draw.

  • The amount of the 50/50 will be monitored on website, and will be 50% of the total sales for the draw that month.

  • The winner’s name winning number will be announced on website, social media channels and in print on site. The winner will also be contacted directly by a representative from The Ottawa Hospital Foundation by email.

  • The winner may claim their prize by contacting The Ottawa Hospital Foundation by email at: lottery@toh.ca. The ticket may then be brought to 737 Parkdale Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, K1Y 1J8, at an agreed upon time, for ticket verification. The winner will then be awarded the prize amount by cheque. Winners must have the original winning ticket and no copies. All payments will be made by cheque.

  • The winning ticket holder has 6 months in which to claim their prize from the date of the draw their ticket was purchased for.

  • The winner must provide government-issued photo identification and verify their phone number and address in order to claim their prize.

  • Once the certified winner is verified, and provides identification with photo ID, they will be given a cheque in the amount of the declared prize which is, at minimum, 50% of the total sales for that draw. If the winner cannot provide photo ID, then the winning proceeds will be held until such identification can be provided.

  • Online ticket sales must be claimed by the individual named in the original purchase transaction. The Ottawa Hospital Foundation is not responsible for any division of the winning prize amount to any other party other than the individual named in original purchase transaction.

  • In the event that no winner comes forward, the winning stub will be kept in a safetydeposit box and held for 6 months. After that time period has elapsed the prize will bedonated back to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation with the approval of the Alcohol andGaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

  • Ticket purchasers must be located in the province of Ontario at the time of purchase.

  • The following individuals are excluded from purchasing a ticket:
    • Member of The Ottawa Hospital Foundation Board of Directors
    • Full-time, part-time or student employee of The Ottawa Hospital Foundation
    • Family who reside at the same address as The Ottawa Hospital Foundation staff
    • An employee of the Alcohol Gaming Commission of Ontario
    • Employees of the supplier of the 50/50 System who are involved with thedevelopment and/or support of the 50/50 System; and
    • Such other persons designated from time to time as Related Parties by TheOttawa Hospital Foundation

  • All ticket purchases are final sale.

  • The above set of rules will be posted on The Ottawa Hospital Foundation's website (ohfoundation.ca/creating-tomorrow-lottery) and on the ticket purchase website (creatingtomorrowlottery.ca).
